Who we are

TheNavMan.com is an independent specialist providing software-only CarPlay and Android Auto updates for Audi Virtual Cockpit systems. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Audi AG.

This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it.

What we collect

Account information: the email address and password you use to sign in to your client portal, and any name you provide.

Vehicle information: your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), vehicle model, model year and region, so we can match the correct software build to your car.

Software version information: the current MMI software version you enter or photograph at checkout, so we can confirm compatibility and select the right firmware.

Purchase information: the product you order, payment amount and currency, and the billing details collected by our payment provider (Wix Payments) on the hosted checkout page.

Photographs: any photo you upload of your software version or attach to a support message.

Messages: the contents of any conversation you have with us through the in-app chat or email.

Usage data: pages visited, events such as completed checkouts and submitted reviews, and standard analytics cookies used to improve the service.

Why we collect it

To check compatibility between your exact vehicle and the package you are ordering before you pay.

To build, grant and deliver the correct software package and any required firmware update to your account.

To process your payment and keep a record of the transaction for support and accounting.

To provide customer support, respond to questions and resolve any issue with your order.

To send you order confirmations, build-ready notifications, hold notices and review requests.

To improve the website and our service through anonymised analytics.

Legal basis

We process your data under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (to deliver what you ordered), legitimate interests (to provide support and improve the service), consent (for optional analytics and marketing) and legal obligation (to keep records for tax and accounting).

You can withdraw consent for analytics and marketing at any time without affecting your order.

How we store your data

Your data is stored securely on the Base44 platform and our payment and file-storage providers. Payment card details are never stored by us — they are handled entirely by our payment provider on its own secure, PCI-compliant checkout page.

Photographs of your software version are stored privately and can only be accessed by you and our team via a short-lived signed link.

We keep your account and order data for as long as your account is active, and for up to seven years after your last purchase where required for tax and accounting records.

Who we share your data with

Our payment provider (Wix Payments), to process and fulfil your order.

Our file-storage provider (Dropbox), to host and serve the large firmware and build files.

Our email provider, to send order and support messages.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We only share it with processors who need it to deliver your order, and only under terms that protect it.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK or EU. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and only transfer the minimum data needed to provide the service.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or complain about how we use it. You also have the right to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the client portal or at the address below. We will respond within one month.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Essential cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled.

Children

Our service is intended for adults who own or maintain vehicles. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the client portal.
